Honyama tomae  #90

A medium hard kiita style tomae stone is not a pure bright color kiita but more of a muddy
yellow plus undertones of gray and with the foggy pattern similar to those stones from
Nakayama. I was able to using TheAxMethod bring a razor up to the HHT-3 stage without
too much effort using a complex X stroke I call a scissors stroke. But any X type strokes
can work on this long narrow stone. I am sure that the buyer will be impressed with the
overall quality of this stone.

The sides are lacquered with urushi and the back shows some black material that could
also be usushi or some other adhesive compound used to attach it to a previously used
wooden base.

The toishi has been lapped perfectly flat, the sides dressed and the corners and edges
beveled unless otherwise noted.  All of my stones come with a money back guarantee
minus the shipping.
