SPECIMEN NAKAYAMA KAMISORI  TOISHI

VINTAGE NAKAYAMA KAMISORI TOISHI. This stone was most likely mined and slabbed up in the
1930s judging from the low speed circular saw kerf marks left on the sides.

It is a light colored predominately grey Asagi stone with a faint blue ground. The small dark area
of alternate minerals at the lower center does not seem to affect the sharpening qualities in any
negative ways and this stone has provided me with several good shaves. This is not a super
hard asagi, in the 4+ to 5 category of hardness making it an easy stone to use and in the 5-
range for fineness providing a edge so this makes an excellent razor hone.

The kawa skin showing on the sides shows in color and reflective characteristics that this is a
Nakayama Mine stone. The back is hand chiseled, it sits very flat on a table or would make an
excellent hand held hone and it is lapped flat on the top.

My stones come with a full money back guarantee minus the shipping.
