Okudo transitional stone #818

The transitional stone has a layer of kiita tomae on the top with the rest of the stone
being a mizu blue/gray color tomae. I have honed a razor on the kiita top of this
stone-shaved with it and it was excellent, and I have done the same from other mizu
stones that are from the same mine, also with excellent close and comfortable
shaves. The kiita clays are a joy to work with and the mizu clays will be very similar
and the grit will be the consistent through out the stone.

There is a partial kawa skin on the back and the stone body looks slightly karasu but
I think that is more an element of the kawa skin instead of the body of the stone.

Essentially what you have here is a moderately priced kiita tomae for a few dozen
razors, and a mizu tomae for the rest of your life that will perform in nearly the same
way if not identically. A very generous size razor stone, it is super smooth and fast
cutting.

The stone (toishi) has been lapped perfectly flat and the corners and edges beveled
unless otherwise noted.  All of my stones come with a money back guarantee minus
the return shipping. This stone will be shipped with an appropriately sized and  tested
tomonagura slurry stone.
