#74 Shinden asagi toishi

A scarce stone from the Shinden mine, this variegated green asagi is super
smooth, fast cutting and was once upon a time attached to a wooden base
using pitch tar. It is generously long and wide for a razor hone, but thin and
the price reflects this although there are still years of use left in the stone.

The color of the stone is made up of yellows, blues and a very mellow green.
I have just now shaved off this stone, honed a Japanese razor after bevel
setting on a 1k King, followed by 21 strokes on the Shinden using
TheAxMethod, stropped on clean leather 20x, then a follow up 3 strokes per
side with a mini AxMethod on the Shinden with 20x on leather. The shave
was superb.

The stone (toishi) has been lapped perfectly flat and the corners and edges
beveled unless otherwise noted.  All of my stones come with a tested and
appropriately sized tomonaguara slurry stone, and a money back guarantee
minus the return shipping.
