#739 Shobudani gray tomae

Shobudani stones often come with this type of kawa skin that
has what look like ruts, deep scores in the stone or through
the skin and will also have these ocher colors too. This is a
medium hard stone that is super smooth and it will give you
with some little skill a comfortable shave like it did me.

One corner is slightly under cut and the modest price reflects
this factor, beyond that the stone is really nice and easy to
use. The gray top has an area of foggy pattern next to a portion
of lighter gray. The grit is the same and the stone feels consistent.
The different complexion dates to the stones original conception.

The stone (toishi) has been lapped flat and the
corners and edges beveled unless otherwise noted. All of my
stones come with a tested and appropriately sized tomonaguara
slurry stone, and a money back guarantee minus the return shipping.
