Narutaki iro tomae #354

Super graphic example of a Narutaki tomae complete with and excellent display of kawa
skin. The Narutaki mine was within a half mile of the Nakayama mine and these two
properties produced the greatest variety of uniquely colored stones of all of the mines.

Being a very large stone it is perfect for tools like chisels or plane blades or knive. Only
moderately hard it will self slurry, and grit rich the slurry allows access to fresh and sharp
cutting particles with each stroke. There is a meridian line that was open on one side
which I have filled with CA super glue so it is stable. If someone wanted to fill in this void
with solid material, sand and seal the side it would be just perfect. Weighing over 2 1/2
pounds there is a lifetime of stone here although at some point your or your grandchild
will work down through the stone to this meridian line a certain amount of lapping will be
necessary to expose the fresh layer below that portion.

The stone (toishi) has been lapped perfectly flat and the corners and edges beveled
unless otherwise noted.  All of my stones come with a money back guarantee minus the
return shipping.
