#5 Nakayama Kiita Bench stone

This large and very kiita stone came from the air raid shelter hoard. This
stone I have seen before in other forms with a semi circular kan pattern,
the straight line nomazu light colored fill, a super fine and very fast cutting
foggy grain. There is one tiny patch of kawa skin with some good black
crystallized  minerals that are also an indicator.

Like the the other kiita from this group It has hand sawn sides and
ends that were created at the mine site or shop up until the beginning of the
Showa Period. A hard kiita but with very fast cutting powers it will hone a
chisel or plane blade to razor sharp. With this stone and all of the other kiita
I have test honed them on a vintage 1960s Henckels straight razor
to a shave ready state, taking but a few minutes I then have test shaved
with it. The results were barber like smooth and close.

The stone (toishi) has been lapped perfectly flat and the corners and edges
beveled and lacquered with Deft Semi-Gloss Brushing Lacquer.  All of my stones
come with a tested and appropriately sized tomonaguara slurry stone, and a
money back guarantee minus the return shipping.
